During boarding the agent announced that the zones can no longer board together (i.e. zone 4 can't board with zone 2). Is this a company wide policy?
Also does this mean a 1K traveling with a 1P or 2P can longer bring the 1P/2P with them?
I suspect you ran into a mistaken GA; inconsistent announcements from the GAs about boarding policy are nothing new.
For both of my flights today, the GA said that all pax in a group "can board with the zone with the lower number." E.g. a mixed group of 1P, Zone 1, and Zone 3 could all board with the 1P.
