I don't think you read my post correctly.
Yes, I do have certain needs:
1. An airline with flights to the US West Coast.
2. An airline with a decent FFP affiliated to a global alliance.
I don't think they are so unique though.
Yes, my comments were about Indian carriers in general. That is the subject of this thread, no ? It's certainly not about the known superiority of Kingfisher/Jet over AI, which has been discussed millions of times by now, and acknowledged/experienced by me as well. I wasn't trying to highlight the problems with AI - plenty of that already out there.
I was merely pointing out that many Indians travel on foreign carriers not because of some perceived status, but simply because Indian carriers don't have much of an international network. In the case of the US, there are other cities besides NYC/ORD that people travel to. If I lived in NYC (or visited there for work), chances are I would be on the AI non stop. But like many other Indians, I don't go there.
