But she offered to throw it away and it wasn't specifically 'artificial knuckles'. If they felt it could be a weapon, fine, that's why she offered to throw it away.
Not arguing with you - I know brass knuckles are prohibited in some jurisdictions - but wouldn't they actually have to be brass knuckles and not an odd piece of jewelry?
Frankly, I think I'll just leave my rings at home in the future (only one trip left and that's the end of my flying days). My engagement ring could cause damage if I wanted to cause damage, after all.
