I also do not ride on a daily basis, but I find the convenience well worth it. I never have to worry if there is sufficient money on my MetroCard for my next journey. I never miss a train because I need to refill my MetroCard. I never have to go looking for a subway station to refill my card before boarding a bus.

Also, I'm not sure is can be linked directly to a bank account. Mine is linked to my Amex SPG credit card and I earn StarPoints on all refills. Surely an FTer can appreciate that.

The only downside is that my Pay-Per-Ride EasyPay MetroCard does not work on either the JFK AirTrain or the PATH trains. I don't know why this is - perhaps it will be fixed one day.
