Disregard Spain, South of France, Corsica, Sardinia, Amalfi Coast, Montenegro, Croatia, Greek Isles as either have been there very recently, will be there this summer or the desired hotels are already fully booked for our dates.

Some ideas I had were Ukraine, Beirut, Bodrum, Cyprus. I don't know if there are any GREAT hotels here. In another thread, someone suggested Azerbaijan and other parts of central Asia. Open to any and all suggestions as long as there is a truly great hotel (they are very picky), interesting cultural things to do, and ideally good nightlife. Thanks!
Beirut - the only 2 good hotels in Beirut (Le Gray & FS) do not have beaches. The Four Seasons overlooks the ocean, but does not have a beach.

Bodrum - Amanruya - does not have a sandy beach. It is pebbled. However, the rest of the property is certainly high-end.

Cyprus - absolutely. Anassa has a virtually private beach. Not great sand (a little dark and crusty) but a great place to sunbathe and swim. And the views are entirely unsullied as Anassa is on the unspoilt Akamas Peninsula. Superb suites and rooms - best with their own pool. very good food and probably the best service in Cyprus. It's a really gorgeous resort.
