Good question HB.

What made me become a BA customer?

Simple - we used to fly on holiday on BA when I was a kid. My first long haul was to JFK in 1991, aheg 10. I loved the upper deck experience in WT. I stayed away the whole way there & back, just soaking it all in.

The next time we went on holiday to Saint Lucia in '92 BA upgraded all four of us to Club World, both ways. They even let me sit in F (old cradle seat) on one of the inter-island flights, I think on the way there before we got to Saint Lucia. Same happened to Barbados in '93 - we were marked as SFU at check-in, and flew Club World both ways on WT tickets. In '94 to the Seychelles, yup, another upgrade for four people courtesy of BA. Sadly they only upgraded my parents on the return, but I didnt hold that against them.

In '96 we went to LAX - my sister was too old for family hols by then. My parents booked Club for themselves, and I was in WT. But BA upgraded me both ways.

When an airline gives you an introduction like that, it makes you not only like them - it makes you love them.

I started work at 17 and began travelling for work at 18/19 - I could chose which airline, and I chose BA. I can still chose, and I will still always chose BA. They looked after me, so they get my business.

Plus these days there are nice things to go around called BA Miles. ^
