weather hits GRR--SkiAdcock needs help
Just spoke with SkiAdcock and she is on the road in a rental car between Grand Rapids and ORD. GRR has been hit with cancellations/delays due to weather and UA is unable to get her to ORD in time to catch her 1434 flight to Frankfurt.
She asked to be rerouted in F on the next available UA flight ORD-FRA at 1830 (Expert Flyer shows F5 only) and the agent at GRR refused to do that saying there was no F award inventory available.
She also asked about rerouting on the LH flight flight ORD-FRA at 1540 and the agent said there were no seats (EF currently shows F1C8). Another option, and this was not explored, is an LH flight at 2230 currently showing F4C9. That would be the last flight of the day.
Should UA be required to reroute her on her award F ticket in paid F inventory on one of the remaining UA or LH flights that show availability today?
She's going to try and find someone in UA reservations that can help while she is on the road, but she asked me to post this for her in case she has no success there, or her cell battery dies, and she had to deal with it on arrival at ORD.
Anyone with experience with this type of issue on international flights involving an award F ticket? She'll check back with me in a few hours.
