Priceline does not disclose its methods but as others have said, I usually have no wait but sometimes it takes a few minutes and that can be for a rejection as well as an acceptance. My interpretation is that this is totally electronic and that the database is slow or that some human intervention becomes necessary because of a system problem or perhaps, Priceline has some cases where the minimum acceptable level is selected with some intervention. I'd like to think, of course, that the extra time is for Shatner to look up my loyalty rating and decide whether he can afford to give me a break on a close call.
