I have mentioned this resort previously on FT but I'm struggling to find up to date information. Is it still open?
Yes, I gather it is still open (opened 2007). It was taken over by another company in 2008 (close to the government - see http://www.mizzima.com/news/inside-b...ha-lodge-.html ).

It is certainly being offered by various travel reps, such as http://myanmar.exotissimo.com/travel...a-lodge-putao/
and http://www.travel-myanmar.net/malikha_lodge.htm

Thing is, just because Jean-Michel designed it doesn't mean it is a well run hotel. I suspect not!
