When you hit 50k total miles it will update both accounts 7-10 days after the flight that gets you over 50k posts. Usually United is quicker and will show up a few days before....
Also when flying partners always look at what fares receive % wise in EQM and always consider using CO because you accrue lifetime miles and on United you do not.
