I've only just started my international travel career but so far have visited such places as South Africa, Oman (my favourite place in the world), Nigeria, Zambia and a few European destinations.
Living near London I have a wealth of airports and airlines to select from and get a free hand when it comes to selection.
In my experience, when I've been away for a week or two, the moment I step on to a BA plane I feel 'home' already. I never get that feeling with any other airline. There's the very rare exception but I always find the crew 1st class, even if I'm not sitting in there!!
This forum has helped too. The advice has made my increasing number of flights more paletable by ensuring the best seats etc are used. I even got to Silver this year thanks to advice on here. And being Silver gives me even more choice. Lounges, Fast Track, seat selection. To others these appear like trivial matters but when you do it reguarly it makes all the difference.
Oh, my family (wife + 2 kids) will be using my miles (again, 50% gained through advice here^) in 2013 for a trip to Florida. Been there loads of times but never in a million years did I ever think I'd do it in Business. That's for Toff's; or so I thought. No it's not, it's for everyone.
