Are you saying you applied the 30K last Jul, and after you got the bonus you immediately canceled it and then re-applied the same 30K 5 days later? So the 1st 30K and the 2nd 30K has may be just a couple months interval in between? If so, may be AMEX has lags in its system and your prev 30K is not reflected in the system yet when you applied the 2nd 30K? Then we just discover something.
No, I first got this card in 2009. In 2010 they had the 30K point offer. I cancelled my card that I had since 2009 (had not yet paid the annual fee). Then I waited a few days and applied for the 2010 offer for 30K points and received that offer. I did the same with my wife, same time frames.
