For those of you familiar with DL's current operations at LAX what are your thoughts as to the wisdom of rolling the dice and booking 2 one way tickets with a 44 minute connection time?

While this above is old, I have the exact situation. I bought the family EWR-LIH tickets without looking at the connection time. Now I see that it includes a 44 minute LAX connection. Will that be enough to move 3 adults and 3 children from one gate to the next?
