Actually, having flown 777s in Y on both DL from ATL<->TLV and EK from SFO<->DXB, DL service is just fine internationally (domestic I'd agree is no comparison). Attentive FAs, decent meals and snacks, good video on demand system (not quite the selection of EK, and no cameras, but close), and, oh, 3-3-3 is *much* more comfortable than 3-4-3. The fancy cases for the EK toiletry/socks/mask kit are a nice touch though, and I did enjoy the EK service. And ATL has far more restrooms :-)

I flew EK 226 a few weeks ago, and I think there's a general issue with the Indian Veg meals -- I saw several people asking for the regular meals, and all were told that they had to take their special meal, though I think some were offered that if there were left over meals they would come back. As they get farther back in the plane, I'm sure they know there won't be any; they did start running out of menu choices by the middle of the middle economy section, so I doubt they carry many extras. Didn't they have cheese pizza sometime in the middle of the flight? I was asleep and missed getting it on the way out, but they definitely had it on DXB-SFO

Not excusing the rude way of handling it, of course...
