I recently (5/31) was on a flight which took me from Silver to Gold. I have a reservation for Thursday (6/9 on CO536) and I've been tracking the Upgrade Standby List to see how much earlier, if at all, golds get bumped compared to silvers. I noticed that a day ago one person was upgraded and earlier today another few people joined the list.

My guess was that the first to get upgraded was Plat/1K and the rest were Gold. I could be completely wrong and they could all be Plat/PP/1K. At the same time I'm wondering if there could be a delay in the system where my Gold status didn't kick in yet.

Any experience? I don't care about an upgrade on a 200 mile flight but have some longer ones booked for later in the month and want to make sure I don't have to do anything special.
