As others have said, miles expire 18 months after the last qualifying activity (earning or burning from any source).
As others have said, your miles are most likely good through December 12, 2012. If your May 26 miles are shown online, you must reset something - it's not a problem with AA. For February 12 2012, your last qualifying activity would have to be
18 months prior to that date. If your account online states your miles are deferred through
02.12.12, you may have to clear the cache and / or check your account and computer settings - my account says
Miles with Expiration Deferred Through Dec 3, 2012.

So I flew last time May 26th, but my miles expire next year February? Come on...
Could it be the reason that I burnt 400,000 miles on a couple of award tickets
for family coming over in July or what sets back my expiration as quoted on my statement?
