Sorry for bringing this thread back but has anyone been successfull actually assigning seats on UA flights via CO.com. I have a split UA/CO reservation for me and my family. On CO.com I was able to assign Exit rows for everyone on the CO flight and then E+ on UA for everyone as well. However, after I confirmed it said something like "United seat assignments may take extra time to confirm". Well several days later we still don't have UA seats. It's for October so I haven't bothered calling yet or pulling it up on .bomb
I've definitely had success cross-assigning seats on both websites for both airlines. I've gotten the same message you got before and it usually resolves itself. However, if you want to be sure, use the UA confirmation number you get from CO.com and assign the seats on .bomb.
