Here's the pitch:
- Accommodations at any of 3 Orlando Hilton properties for 4 days, 3 nights. Stay is good anytime in the next 6 months, no blackout dates, but there is a surcharge for holidays like Christmas & New Years. Dates are not reserved at time of purchase.
- $100 "Stay on Us" voucher for any Hilton hotel after completing the stay
- "Online savings" voucher good for 10% off Macy's, Netflix, etc. (?? bizarre?)
- Total cost $199/person, prepaid. After I hemmed and hawed a bit he dropped it to $149 if I bought "today only."
Thinking about it now, he seemed perfectly willing to charge me for 1 person (total $149) but since the "package" doesn't include airfare, I don't see any reason why 2 people couldn't use the hotel room. Actually seems like a pretty screaming deal once you factor in the $100 voucher.
He had one other offer for Vegas for 3 days, 2 nights for $219 with a $50 Hilton voucher and $10 gaming chips.
Ultimately I didn't pull the trigger as it seemed sketchy and I wasn't sure I could secure airfare and time off in the next 6 months. I asked if there was any way he could email me (no) or a way I could call back (no). The only option is to put your number back on the call list and they'll give you a call back in the next few days. He didn't mention anything regarding timeshares or any pitch/presentation requirements.
I'm not a big Hilton guy but this is actually tempting when I think about it. Anyone else? Caveats or gotchas?
I actually got pushed over to Hilton Grand Vacations yesterday after updating a reservation on the phone and I got a much better offer then you did in Vegas. Same amount of nights, it was $99, with a $100 Hilton voucher, a $50 voucher to use at the Hilton in Vegas, and $15 for gambling. I turned it down though because I don't really have the time to go to Vegas and didn't want to sit through a sales pitch.
