You might have gotten lucky, but I doubt it. They charge the guest fee to the Diners Club card used for entrance. In fact, I don't even think they accept any other form of payment for guest fees. The person who checks you into the club should probably inform you of the fee, but I'm sure that doesn't always happen. You might want to have your wife check her transactions online. I'm guessing she'll see the charges for bringing you into the clubs as her guest.
