The fares with QR have gone through the roof in the last year, rather than ignore we contacted them to ask about the possibility of a corporate rate, we are not a large company so I thought we wouldnt stand a chance, as we have been told by BA and VS previously that we where not of interest, but we recieved a positive response and was given attractive discounts to the destinations we use , so for me QR is doing the right thing higher yield for once/twice a year passengers but giving discounts to regular travellers , which seems to make some sort of sense and after all QR is a business and the aim of business is to make a profit.
Also the cost of LHR-HKG for example even with the increased cost is still a hell of a lot cheaper than BA or VS, dependent on load levels it will be interesting to see what happens over the next few months with regards to pricing.
The one downside to QR is the equipment used on the LHR/MAN-Doha is A330/340 rather than 777, which I am sure you will agree are not as good with regards to seating or AVOD.
But with regards to pricing , they are still worth considering especially the inflight service in business class which is second only to SQ in my view
