This is like the Citi's AA cards "for the first time customer only" thing - some got really lucky and were able to slip through the filter net but majority were caught. Though if enough time has passed, one becomes "new customer" again.

I certainly would not think your case is the norm. Nonetheless, you and your wife are quite lucky to get the full 30K, personal and biz both.
