Do you have to have sufficient miles in your account for it to show you all the options? (For example, in your case, would it have shown you the 190K miles option if you did not have 190K miles in your account?)
One thing I did notice as I booked travel for two family members on CO.com: There is extra inventory (saver) for Plats. I logged in under my account (Plat with the easy match from 1K) and found saver tickets for the itinerary. I logged in under my relative's account (no status), and there were only standard awards available. I logged back in and out of both accounts a couple of times to make sure I wasn't missing anything, but it always had saver awards under my account, and only standard under the no status account...
On Topic: I had no problem linking my accounts a couple of months ago.
I've transferred AMEX MR point to CO, transferred those miles to UA, transferred them back to CO again to book tix for family members...
It's been a great feature.
I always logged in as a CO Plat so I did not notice that difference. You don't need the miles to get the itinerary. In fact I only transferred the miles after I had found the flights.
