Middle seat has been left free on my limited experience of BD European business - of course its much nicer if they also do the squashing to allow you to stretch out a little.

In truth I can't see them removing the middle seat block on their Western European flights as their business class product probably doesn't get great loads and offers few other benefits to entice consumers otherwise. I don't see 'Flexible Economy' enticing those travellers who can still expense business class for BD's comparatively short haul European destinations, especially not when the competition is mostly moving away from the 2x3 or 3x3 possibilities.
