I'd be redeeming for routes all over the world...so no specific airline alliance to side with.

...I guess the question just boils down to...Is the merged CO/UA ff program going to be as good as the old CO program. If UA's partner redemption blocking becomes a part of the combined programs, CO miles will become significantly less useful.
