That's not saying they are not improving which indeed they are now. Their website although is not updated with its latest products is actually working well now for booking. OLCI is now available but only for domestic sector for now. Mobile apps are working very well on both Blackberry (which also provide OLCI for domesitc) and iPhone. You can see that Garuda is starting to invest a lot in improving its website and its mobile application albeit only gradually. Maybe it is a good move on Garuda seeing what SQ's new website is doing to all of us now. (The new SQ's site has been up for 2 weeks and yet it is still full of major problems that make booking on line almost impossible and check in online risky even for a Solitaire member like me).
Garuda's service is now improving and I am sure with the demand generated by working together with KLM via JV (if this is what will happen) and with SkyTeam, Garuda will be able to pick up this slot easily in the next few years.
My experience of late is that Garuda's service execution in both J and Y class is similar if not better than MH on several occasions. On regional sectors, GA's hard products are now consistently better than MH's regional products as well.
I always avoided GA until the end of 2009 when they started to transform and I like what I have seen since in both J and Y especially on its short regional flights. I am now looking forward to my 1st GA long haul in J in July from SIN to AMS via CGK.
