Agent normally does not have time nor inclination to look for ALL Possible routing to get to a destination.

That is why your OWN knowledge of route maps is essential so that you can check availability segment by segment. Once you have found a routing that has seats through out, call airline immediately and "feed" the agent one flight at a time to book the whole itinerary.

Or, spring up some bucks to have others do this for you. There are services out there for award booking assistance. sbm12 just posted an example. You may want to PM him about his / their services.
