Finding my way around the OS (application installs, settings etc) isn't much of a hassle but Pages/iWork is certainly turning out to be a steep learning curve. Downloading the trial version of MS Office for Mac '11 as I type, and will run that alongside pages over the next 30 days before picking one or the other at the end.
I'm surprised you haven't give NeoOffice a look. It's basically OpenOffice but in a tidy, neat package, and to be honest I prefer it over both iWork and MS Office. Very much so in fact.
And this is coming from someone who doesn't hesitate to pay for software, so it's not like I'm choosing something because it's free. I have iWork and MS Office as well, but I still use NeoOffice most of the time.
