Back when the IMF conference was held in Singapore, the flight was full in all classes and though I was booked in F, I flew in Y from SIN-NRT, and went to F from NRT-LAX. Was greeted by my surname and given the option of F menu. Was also provided w/pillow and blanket from F. The Inflight Supervisor came by to chat and bascially I was treated very well in Y. That was then. Now, it's different.
Flew J/C recently and even w/status, I was "spoken" to in a condescending manner

Not pleased. My dad's lifetime Solitaire and the few times he flew in Y, he said he was pleased w/the service.
I, too, think that the only way to ensure excellent service is to fly F, irregardless of status.
