The new IC is very good, especially the entry level room size at 32 sq m. There is nothing to 'dislike' about the rooms - they are modern but not 'design hotel' and very large for NYC. Noise is an issue on some floors at some sides.
My gripe is the lack of public space. Like many new hotels, you walk in, there is a modest lobby with the restaurant / bar immediately next to it. There is nowhere in the hotel to sit quietly or just wander around. Since I didn't fancy paying the breakfast rate given the number of alternatives, I was literally walking into the lobby, to the lifts, to my room, sleep, down the lift, out of the door and repeat for 4 days. I reckon I spent under 10 minutes over 4 days in the entire hotel except for my room.
