When you come at it from that angle, I have to confess that I have enjoyed Drambuie from time to time. Perhaps, like Drambuie, the secret is to cut the sweetness by mixing the liqueur with some decent straight whiskey.
Of course, Drambuie has an herbal contribution. It's not just honey added to whiskey.
I've never tried Drambuie but I have to admit, the commericals they were running a few years ago certainly made me want to give it a go. Yes, sadly, I'm an easy target for great marketing campaigns.
