AA 675 DFW-MEX June 4 had delays - about 1.5 hours in the air (flight duration 2:25), a cockpit announcement was made stating the aircraft would return to DFW due to an equipment problem "the aircraft could not land in Mexico with".

The a/c returned to C15 (had not landed internationally), after a short time passengers were disembarked and told to stay close, as they would 1) attempt to repair the problem component, 2) if not, attempt to secure another a/c, and 3) if impossible attempt to board some on AA481 at 5:15 PM; the remainder of pax would try to be accommodated on the first flight June 6.

Economy passengers were given $10 vouchers so they could purchase snacks and beverages, the a/c departed about an hour later. (Sounds like an ILS failure, or perhaps radar.)

This seems to have been a step above what we often hear about the handling of such incidents - passengers were kept informed, the a/c was repaired and dispatched expeditiously (not much anything the airline can usually do about this), economy pax were given vouchers and a chance to get a sandwich or ?

N.B. I was not on that flight - my sister, an AA Gold, was, and she kept in touch to keep me informed.
