I apologize for not writing more clearly. My rant was written quickly on very little sleep.

I just feel as if there has not been enough done by Starwood to improve the quality of sleep across most of their brands. I think that this may be due to a possible high turnover rate in housekeeping, as well as a lack of communication between the front desk and housekeeping. I enjoy a nice room and perks, but the most important part of my stay is quality of sleep.

In regards to the latch, I've found that some hotels let their housekeeping override the locks and the door will open and slam as the latch catches it. It is actually a very unpleasant way to wake up compared to someone knocking on the door.
