I think his gripe -- which is extremely legit -- is that housekeeping attempts to enter and the racket wakes him up.
I understand what his complaint was, and my question wasn't really directed at that. It was asking if he intentionally only latches the door, or if housekeeping is overriding the locking mechanism (which has happened to me on a few occasions) or the locking mechanism isn't working properly (has also happened to me on a few occasions).
