On my way back from Paris to Chicago this July, there's an approximately 12 hour layover in Dublin (Air Lingus from Paris to Dublin arriving at 11pm then American onwards to Ohare leaving at 11am the next day). I've never been to Dublin before but I know the overnight layover isn't exactly conducive to sight-seeing. What do you guys recommend I do? I don't want to sleep on the airport floor for one. Is it advisable to rent a cheap hotel room in downtown dublin and perhaps take a leisure stroll in the early morning/have coffee or breakfast downtown before heading back to the airport?
