Thanks for all the replies, glad you enjoyed the trip report. Although I'm not as clever as Tfung with my photo report, I thought I'd provide a few links to photos for those of you who are more visually inclined.

You'll find a lovely picture of BD's new A330 here:

A picture of the seats in "the business" can be found here:

To answer some of the questions that have been asked so far...

Food
The food was about as good as I've had on an airplane. Hot bacon butties are a little slice of heaven (even if they clog the arteries). My experience of BD's food is that it is consistently good regardless of class of service, even on short-haul flights. I remember my first flight with BD, AMS-LHR, being served a full cocktail service and a hot meal (lamb stuffed with apricots -- lovely) -- and that was in coach. I've been hooked on BD ever since.

"new economy"
The new economy class is similar to premium-economy on United flights. It's a seperate cabin with coach style service but 38" seat pitch and dedicated cabin crew. Reserved for full fare Y and BD Gold card holders (not sure about *A Gold)

With the excellent recline mechanism and footrests, the seats really are nearly as comfortable as domestic first class.

Carry-on
I had no trouble carrying on my 22" soft duffel or three-fold garment bag. Luggage space is good on the A330 (not quite as good as a 777, but close) so you shouldn't have too much trouble with a standard rollaboard.

Eye-in-the-sky
Eye-in-the-sky isn't available during take-off or landing in business class because the biz class seats have stowable television screens -- same problem as with a bulkhead seat.

Gaza, I would definitely call ahead and request new seats, as the bulkhead are definitely the worst in terms of legroom in the new economy cabin.

If Leigh is on your flight, be sure to pass on my regards!
