Your posting of the trip report was excellent timing. My wife and I are flying EDI-MAN-IAD on Saturday in new ecomony. We are using award points. BD have a policy of upgrading their Gold members (my wife and I are both Gold) to new economy from economy.

Your comment re the bulkhead seats are interesting. We have been preallocated these seats (10 A& B I think) for outbound and return. Depending on the loading we may switch during the flight.

I'll be interested to do a comparison between BD's and BA's service. I flew in new Club World recently and was not too impressed. During the flight I gave WT+ a look over and it looked quite impreessive. The leg room on their bulkhead seats was excellent. Hopefully if "the business" is not too busy I'll be able to check it out. I'm used to sitting at the front of the bus so being back in (new) economy will be something I've not experienced for some time!!
