I objected and was given access "on a one time basis only." This was a few months ago so they may or may not have revised that policy. If op is Gold and wants access to a lounge I'd suggest the Metropole a 10 min walk from Paddington. Rooms a bit shabby and dark though--Metropole could use a refurbishing.

Agree, Paddington access to Heathrow is a blessing. Take the slow train to Heathrow (about 15 min more travel time) and save half the price.
