Because DEN moved locations from Stapleton to the new location (an air distance of some 12 miles), some airlines never changed there DEN mileages, some did not.

There are other small difference depending on where at the airport the distance is measured -- there is not a universal dataset used by all airlines -- post #2 has some references to more extended discussion on this.
