PHL-DEN.....1,557 (UA).....1,569 (US)
DEN-SNA.......846 (UA)........833 (US)
trip total.....2,403 (UA).....2,402 (US)

Granted, this trip total differs by only one mile one way. But suppose I’m taking a long-haul trip, LAX-LHR. The decision as to whether or not I book my flight with UA or US, or want my award miles credited to one or the other could be significant when also I have elite bonus miles factored in.

What I am asking is, why should there be a difference in the award miles between the same two cities, especially when these carriers are *A members?
You are wasting valuable time in your life worrying about this scenario. Do you have any idea what the % difference is in you above example that has lead you to worry about future incidence?

.04%

Save your efforts for something more worthwhile than 1 mile.
