I can believe that the old WT seats might be more comfortable than the new.

This is because an astute poster on this forum, I forget who, once pointed out that BA designed their WT product at a time when their financial performance was much stronger today and accordingly they had both more money and more willingness to develop an excellent onboard product and service.
