advice needed: Star Alliance Gold and Lap Infant

Thanks for reading, my wife and I are UA MP members, she is Star Alliance Gold equivalent, and I am only UA premier (equals prestige). We booked one way award travel on AC with our UA miles and in the confusion of setting up the reservations we ended up with two separetae itinerarys and locators (very dumb and my fault). To add to the confusion, we will have our 15 month old son with us as a lap child, but we are ticketing shortly and can add him to EITHER my ticket or my wife's ticket.

SO, We are flying LHR-YYZ-ALB, and my question is: on the 777, we want to try to grab the two seats in the bulkhead row 30 or 50, which are the bassinet rows. The seatmap shows those seats are open. Does my wife, as Star Alliance Gold, get to pre-book a seat in that row? As a premier on UA, do I? Does AC let travelers with infants pre-book these seats?

Or would AC recognize that we are both parents of the child and let us into that row? If not, I am hoping our best strategy would be for my Star Alliance Gold Wife to pre-book that row, add my son to my ticket and join her. Any suggestions? I plan to call AC soon but wannted to check with fellow FT'ers first, mahalo!
