I think that it will be a challenge to find five award seats for travel between the U.S. and Europe on the same flight two months from now. Can your party split up, and fly on different flights?
If you can find availability, using BA miles for this redemption will likely involve greater out of pocket expense than converting MR points to another carrier's miles: BA miles used for TATL redemptions on
any oneworld carrier have high fuel surcharges added. I would start by looking for award seats at Delta's website (for SkyTeam carriers), and at Continental's or Air Canada's website (for Star Alliance carriers). If you find something, than look at transferring MR points to an appropriate partner to make the award redemption. But try to place the award seats on hold before initiating any MR transfer.
