In short, the base rate is (appropriately) one skymile per mile flown. You get a 50% bonus if you buy a first- or business-class ticket or one of the more expensive and flexible coach class tickets (fare classes Y, B, or M). If you have elite status then you also get a bonus for that, as described in the footnotes at the link.
