Far in advance the other airlines are probably counting on some probability of capturing a $150 change fee in addition to the fare. Thus they can afford to price lower far ahead.

I personally think anyone who purchases a Business Select fare when other fares are available must be a terrible businessman. Paying for a Wanna Get Away fare and paying the $10 early check-in fee plus purchasing a drink will get you essentially the same experience for a significantly cheaper price. Reward points are nowhere near enough of an incentive to overpay for a ticket otherwise.
With A+ status the points earning multiplier for fare class can make BS a profitable choice over Anytime or over a WGA fare that approaches the Anytime level.
