The airport environs covers a huge area and not just the terminal. This will be just a part of their 'beat' and which it is much easier to cover a larger area in a shorter amount of time.

Well, the EDI is so small that the bicycles will be useless IMO.

They will not be able to go from landside to airside (security control-stairs). Also hey will not be able catch anyone outside the building easy, as there are lot of security barriers.

I also believe that the airport is so small that the bicycle will not have the distance needed to accelerate so much that will gain advantage. The only area that they could use those is on the Ryanair's departure gates which are far away.
