With respect to the Sandpiper, if you have any kind of class and/or are over 35 years old, I would not go there. The dirty bird is responsible for weekly bar fights, DUIs, and drunk sluts who puke all over the street. Unless you find that kind of thing fun...

RC LA is shiny and new, but I find the actual city of LA boring (and I live here!). The excitement of LA Live wears off within the first 24 hours. Then you'll find yourself driving 30-60 minutes to do anything fun.
Gosh - I love Los Angeles. There is a ton to do there - everything from great museums to great eats to great shopping to the ocean. We'll be spending a week there in September. Want me to show you around ?

I think the key is figuring out traffic patterns - and figuring out what you want to do - and arranging your days accordingly. You don't want to do the Santa Monica Pier and the Getty in Malibu and the Norton Museum in Pasadena on the same day. One day - one part of the metro area - that's my planning. And you have to be prepared to drive. But - being from Florida - we're prepared to drive. Robyn
