I think A3 is indeed a good choice. 40K miles per year may get you Star Gold on some star partners. But, if you have a year where you may not fly as much, then you get in trouble.
So, A3 is a strong choice for you..as it requires only 20K (and they give 1000 elite miles just for joining).
