Have you tried kayak.com ?

Here are some tips from a Japanese resident.
You can purchase one-way Osaka-Tokyo ticket separately at around $120 if you need.
Delta is doing a promo for its HND flights. Double miles.

If you can be flexible on dates, I see $960 for Korean Air, SLC-NRT. Looks like Korean could be a good choice for you. Its seat pitch is 33" while DL is 32" and AA is 31-32" according to AIRLINE SEAT PITCH GUIDE.
