Failed online booking, credit card charged
Not a Miles & More issue, but I'll try here anyway.
Two days ago I attempted to make a booking on the LH web site, it failed with a strange error message: "The booking cannot be performed due to invalid or restricted offices in your site configuration, please review your configuration or contact your site administrator (20500)". Now, that is cyberspeak for something I'm sure, but mere mortals are left mosty clueless, offices in site configuration or not. I actually asked LH by sending a question using the compliments and complaints form, but lo and behold, no response as yet.
I have since discovered that the fare was deducted from my credit card, however, there is no trace of the booking in the reservations system.
Have spoken with LH on the phone, but unless I can produce a ticket number, they are unable to give any response. Of course there is no ticket number as the booking failed. That didn't stop LH from lifting a serious sum of money from my credit card though.
Probably the money will be reinstated into the account, but it does leave some questions. Why is LH unable to respond to a simple question about where the money went and when I can expect to either have a booking or the money back? More fundamentally, why should I trust this web site again?
Anyone been through this before and can offer some advice?
