All of the BAA signs to the lounges say 'by invitation only'. It's to stop the riff-raff attempting access.

To the OP - your children can accompany you everywhere on the ground at T5, except into Galleries Arrivals on your return. No problem with them using F check-in, Fast Track security, CCR, priority boarding.

You can all check-in any time from 05:00 on day of departure together at the First area.
